Dubai, United Arab Emirates – TikTok, the world’s leading short video platform, has unveiled its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2025, highlighting its ongoing efforts to promote a safe and inclusive digital environment for its users in the Middle East and North Africa region.
According to the report, the platform removed 16.5 million videos violating community guidelines between January and March 2025 in Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, and Morocco, a move that reflects the professionalism of the platform’s content moderation and auditing processes in the region.
Regarding LIVE live streaming content, TikTok stopped more than 19 million live infringing broadcasts globally during the first quarter of the year, achieving a 50% increase compared to the previous quarter, in a clear indication of enhancing its technical capabilities in detecting infringing content efficiently and quickly, without affecting the accuracy of advanced content moderation processes capable of monitoring infringing content quickly and accurately.
Adherence to community guidelines remains a key platform priority. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, TikTok banned 849,976 live hosts and proactively halted more than 1.5 million live streams in Egypt, the UAE, Iraq, Lebanon, and Morocco. These ongoing efforts reflect TikTok’s commitment to maintaining accurate oversight, in parallel with the continued expansion of the scope of automated decisions.

Egypt
In Egypt, TikTok removed 2.9 million videos during the first quarter of 2025 for violating its community guidelines.
Morocco
In Morocco, TikTok removed 1,040,981 violating videos during the first quarter of the year, and the proactive removal rate reached 98.9% of violating content without user reports.
Iraq
Iraq recorded more than 10 million video removals due to violations during the same period.
Lebanon
TikTok removed approximately 1,349,478 videos in Lebanon during the first quarter of 2025.
