Dubai-UAE: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) organized the first Zero Bureaucracy Forum of 2025, where it kicked off phase 2 of its Zero Bureaucracy Program that aims to radically restructure services by reducing the number of steps, minimizing required documents and fields, and shortening the time needed to deliver the service — all to ensure customer satisfaction and exceed their expectations.

During the forum, the Minister’s Zero Bureaucracy Award was announced to honor best practices in streamlining procedures and improving customer experience. This initiative comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to encourage its employees to embrace a culture of innovation and leadership in service delivery, while also engaging partners and customers in the zero bureaucracy efforts.

His Excellency Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Zero Bureaucracy at MoEI, affirmed that the Ministry is committed to establishing a new work culture rooted in flexibility and proactivity. The aim is to transform services into an integrated, customer-centric experience that enhances the UAE’s global competitiveness in government performance indicators.

He said: “At the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, we believe that simplifying government procedures is not a temporary project, but an institutional culture we strive to embed across all our services. We will continue to work diligently on developing smarter, more flexible service packages, supported by digital technologies and data, to ensure a fully integrated government experience that anticipates and meets customer needs—strengthening the UAE’s leadership in government efficiency.”

His Excellency emphasized that the UAE government continues its dedicated efforts to eliminate bureaucracy by simplifying procedures, adopting advanced digital solutions, and fostering innovation in government services. These efforts align with the strategic direction to enhance the efficiency of government work and achieve the highest levels of performance.

He added: “Accelerating achievement and ensuring high efficiency in government services are the cornerstones of building a pioneering and innovative administrative model that meets future aspirations and places customer satisfaction at the forefront. Zero bureaucracy is no longer an option—it is a necessity to ensure a more agile working environment and a government that is more responsive to change and globally competitive.”

For her part, Laila Al Balooshi, Director of Strategy and Future Department, presented the ambitious achievements made by the Ministry during the first phase of the Zero Bureaucracy initiative. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to building on phase one and continuing its efforts to enhance government efficiency, in line with the wise leadership’s vision for a more prosperous and innovative future. She emphasized that these efforts aim to position the government as a global role model in flexibility, speed, and responsiveness to the needs of society.
