Cairo, Egypt – Filming of the movie “Death Squad” starring Ahmed Ezz has been suspended indefinitely, due to the star’s involvement in his new 6-episode series, co-starring Amina Khalil and written by Salah El-Gohainy.
It deals with political and social conflicts
The film “Death Squad” takes place in the 1940s and 1950s, taking the audience on a journey to Upper Egypt during a period filled with political and social conflicts, especially under the British occupation. Ahmed Ezz portrays an officer who enters into a fierce confrontation with one of the most dangerous men in Upper Egypt, played by Asser Yassin, in a conflict that reflects the duality of good and evil.
Menna Shalaby portrays a different character, a prostitute named Samira, who plays a pivotal role in resisting the occupation, adding a human and patriotic dimension to the events. Amina Khalil also appears as a guest star, playing the officer’s wife, in a limited but impactful dramatic role.
