Beirut, Lebanon – The Beirut Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Bilal al-Dhanawi, decided to postpone the trial of artist Fadel Shaker, Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir, and four other defendants. The case concerns the attempted assassination of Resistance Brigades official Hilal Hammoud in Sidon, which dates back to 2013.
The decision to postpone the hearing to a later date was made due to the incompleteness of the proceedings and the failure to notify some of the defendants of the hearing date.
The prisoner is in the hospital, and Shaker is present.
Today’s session requires the presence of Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir, who is detained in Roumieh prison. He is one of the defendants in the case. Also required to be present is the artist Fadel Shaker, who underwent preliminary questioning before the head of the Criminal Court on October 22.
