Washington, USA – In a surprising and frank statement, American gymnastics legend Simone Biles revealed the harrowing experience she went through after undergoing breast augmentation surgery, confirming that the pain during the recovery period was far beyond what those around her had portrayed.
Biles, 28, posted a video on TikTok in which she talked about the details of her decision to have surgery and the reality of what she experienced after the operation, despite assurances from friends and doctors that the recovery period would be “painless”.
“I had breast augmentation surgery on June 16th… and you all lied.”
In a remarkably candid statement, Biles said in the video: “I had breast augmentation surgery on June 16th… and you all lied about it being painless. It was extremely painful. It took me two full weeks to get the stitches out. Now I’m happy with the results, but the recovery was very difficult.”
She explained that she had the procedure done via implantation under the muscle, which made her movement limited in the first few days, to the point that she was unable to get up on her own.
Support from Jonathan Owens… and a fearful phase of the new look
Biles stated that her husband, American football player Jonathan Owens (Chicago Bears), was a cornerstone in helping her during the early days, saying: “On the first day, Jonathan had to help me get out of bed. I couldn’t do anything on my own, not even go to the bathroom.”
She also spoke about her concern about her body shape after the operation: “My new breasts reached my neck. I looked like an alien. I spoke with my doctor and he reassured me… and now the shape is perfect.”
A sporting legend who never stops breaking barriers
Beyond the personal details, Biles continues to cement her status as a sports icon. She has won 11 gold medals in her career and captivated audiences at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she triumphed in the team, vault, and all-around competitions, establishing herself as the greatest gymnast in modern history.
Bayles’ message: Beauty may come with pain… but within limits.
Despite the difficulties of the experience, Biles wanted to send a message to her followers:
Cosmetic surgery is a “personal choice,” but the path to it can be more painful than it is told, and every body has a different experience.
