The Egyptian box office during the Eid al-Adha 2025 film season generated revenues of EGP 76.7 million (US$1.55 million) between Thursday, June 5, and Monday. Only two new films were shown, in addition to “Siko Siko,” which has been running since last Eid al-Fitr.
A distribution official stated that revenues declined by 25% compared to last year. “Project X,” starring Karim Abdel Aziz, topped the box office charts, grossing EGP 40 million (approximately $807.6 thousand) during the Eid holidays alone, bringing its total revenue since its release on May 21 to approximately EGP 90 million (US$1.8 million).
Tamer Hosny’s film “Restart” came in second place during Eid al-Adha, grossing approximately EGP 34.5 million ($697,000), bringing its total revenue since its release on May 29 to EGP 50 million (approximately $1 million).
At the bottom of the list was “Siko Siko,” starring Essam Omar and Taha Desouky. Despite being shown in cinemas during Eid al-Fitr 2025 and released on a digital platform a week ago, it still enjoys a relatively favorable audience turnout, grossing EGP 2.2 million ($44.4 thousand) during the Eid holiday.
