Dubai, UAE – The United Arab Emirates is participating as the Guest of Honour at the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair 2026, which will be held from June 17 to 21 in Beijing, China.
This participation reflects the UAE’s growing prominence on the global cultural stage and further strengthens cultural and intellectual cooperation with China.
Cultural presence reflecting the UAE-China partnership
The participation was announced during two simultaneous press conferences held in Beijing and Dubai.
The organizing authorities reviewed the most prominent features of the UAE program
and its cultural and cognitive objectives.
The participation is jointly organized by the UAE Embassy in China and the Ministry of Culture under the slogan “Society and People.”
This reflects the state’s vision that places people and knowledge at the heart of the development process.
Through this participation, the UAE confirms its keenness to promote international cultural dialogue.
It also aims to expand areas of cooperation in the sectors of publishing, translation, and cultural and creative industries,
in a way that contributes to supporting cultural understanding between the Emirati and Chinese peoples.
“The Emirati House” is a window into the cultural scene
The exhibition features the “Emirati House” pavilion, offering a comprehensive experience
that reflects the richness, diversity, and openness of the UAE’s cultural landscape.
The pavilion includes 29 government entities, cultural, academic, and creative institutions
showcasing the country’s achievements in publishing, translation, and cultural content creation.
The pavilion also highlights the UAE as a society that embraces more
than 200 nationalities in an environment of coexistence and tolerance,
while simultaneously preserving its national identity and authentic cultural values.
Diverse events and new partnerships
The Emirati program includes more than 20 dialogue sessions and cultural and professional events
covering topics such as publishing, translation, intellectual property, children’s literature,
travel literature, the future of digital publishing, artificial intelligence, and the cultural economy.
The pavilion will also host book signings for a number of Emirati authors and thinkers, as well as visual arts and Arabic calligraphy displays.
In addition, professional meetings will be held between Emirati and Chinese cultural institutions
to enhance cooperation and expand areas of cultural and knowledge partnership.
This participation aligns with the UAE vision of establishing culture as a bridge
for communication between peoples and a driver of sustainable development and innovation.
Furthermore, it strengthens the UAE cultural presence on the international stage.
