Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defence of the Italian Republic, on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two friendly nations.
The Italian Minister conveyed to His Highness the greetings of Giorgia Meloni,
Prime Minister of Italy, and her wishes for the UAE’s continued prosperity.
The two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation in defence and security affairs.
They affirmed the depth of bilateral relations and their mutual commitment to developing
them in a way that serves common interests and the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
Strengthening the defense and security partnership
The meeting addressed ways to enhance military cooperation between the UAE
and Italy and explored new areas of joint work in the security and defense sectors.
Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise
and maintaining continuous coordination to address contemporary security challenges.

His Highness discussed with the Italian Minister of Defense the latest developments in the Middle East.
He focused on the repercussions of the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians
and vital infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region.
The Italian Minister reiterated his country’s strong condemnation of these attacks,
describing them as a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law,
and affirming Italy’s support for the UAE in confronting threats that undermine regional security.
Navigation stability and regional security
The meeting addressed the risks threatening international maritime security
and their direct impact on the global economy and the stability of supply chains.
