Ras Al Khaimah, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed that the tourism sector is a fundamental pillar of the national economy.
It is also a key driver of sustainable development, given the UAE’s ambitious vision and advanced infrastructure.
These factors have contributed to solidifying its position among the world’s leading tourist destinations.
Enhancing the UAE’s tourism standing
This came during His Highness’s attendance at the Tourism Council meeting organized by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism in Ras Al Khaimah,
with the participation of several officials and representatives from the tourism and hospitality sector.
His Highness affirmed that the UAE, thanks to the vision of its leadership, has become one of the world’s most preferred destinations.
He also noted that this progress reflects the success of development policies and investments in infrastructure and tourism services.
A developmental vision for the tourism sector
His Highness explained that the tourism sector in Ras Al Khaimah is a key pillar of the emirate’s development strategy.
It is based on a clear vision aimed at achieving sustainable growth, supported by effective partnerships and accumulated expertise.
He also noted that the emirate has successfully built a diversified model that strengthens the economy
and enhances the quality of life. Furthermore, this approach increases its regional and international competitiveness.
Strong growth indicators and future prospects
For his part, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism,
affirmed that the UAE continues to develop the tourism sector as a key driver of economic growth.
He noted that hotel occupancy rates reached approximately 85% during January and February 2026,
with revenues exceeding AED 9.8 billion, representing a 17% year-on-year increase.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening international partnerships
and developing tourism experiences in line with the National Tourism Strategy 2031.
This, he stated, will support the sector’s sustainability and enhance its global competitiveness.
