Dubai, UAE – Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri met with a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan. They discussed ways to strengthen economic and investment ties between the two countries. The meeting also focused on emerging economic sectors in the coming period.
Cooperation in strategic sectors
The discussions covered several vital sectors, most notably tourism, aviation, financial technology, transportation, renewable energy, agriculture, food security, logistics, industry, and infrastructure. All sectors are aimed at strengthening economic integration between the two countries.
Bin Touq emphasized that economic relations between the two nations are experiencing rapid growth. This growth has been bolstered by the directives of the leadership in both countries. He also noted the presence of over 2,300 Uzbek companies operating in the UAE market.
He explained that the meeting represents a new step towards exploring investment opportunities. These opportunities can transform into joint ventures. This will enhance investment flows and foster communication between the business communities of both countries.
Remarkable growth in the tourism sector
Tourism cooperation between the two countries has witnessed remarkable development. The number of Uzbek tourists visiting the UAE increased by nearly 25% in 2025. This reflects the attractiveness of the UAE market.
The UAE side reviewed the economic policies that enhance the business environment, including new facilities supporting the private sector. They also improved liquidity and reduced operational burdens. Customs facilitation has also been strengthened.
The two sides also discussed enhancing cooperation through joint economic events, including Investopia Tashkent. This aims to explore new opportunities in the new economy markets at both the regional and international levels.
These discussions are part of both countries’ efforts to strengthen their economic partnerships. Furthermore, they seek to establish sustainable cooperation that supports growth and development across various sectors.
