Dubai, UAE – The Emirates Boxing Federation announced the participation of boxer Moaz Wael Mohammed in the Youth Olympic Games “Dakar 2026”. To become the first Emirati boxer to represent the country in this Olympic event.
Moaz is competing in the 70 kg weight category, after being given an exceptional seat under the “invitations” system.
His Excellency Anas Nasser Al Otaiba, President of the Emirates Boxing Federation, expressed his happiness at the selection of the player. Stressing that this participation represents an important milestone in Moaz’s career, and a turning point for the UAE national team. It reflects the development of player preparation programs and the growing ability to create champions capable of competing in major forums.
Al Otaiba explained that Moaz, 16 years old, succeeded, thanks to his commitment, discipline and technical capabilities, in steadily making his way in the world of boxing. He joined the national team in 2025, quickly emerging as one of the game’s most prominent rising talents.
He added that Moaz’s participation in “Dakar 2026” is a milestone in the UAE boxing career.
He stressed that the Youth Olympic Games are one of the most important global platforms for refining expertise. Moaz’s participation included the UAE’s presence for the first time in boxing competitions within this Olympic event.
