Liverpool, England – Liverpool manager Arne Slott has acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming match against Fulham in the English Premier League.
Liverpool will host Fulham at 6:30 pm tomorrow, Saturday, at Anfield Stadium, as part of the 32nd round of the competition.
Slot said during the press conference: “Fulham are a very organized team, and their coach has been working for a long time, which is reflected in the clarity of their identity on the field”.
He added: “Perhaps the only positive aspect of our loss to Paris Saint-Germain is that we faced the European champions and we were not at our best, but we will strive in the coming days to show a more competitive side”.
He continued: “This match confirmed to us that if we want to develop, we must play consistently at the Champions League level. Our goal is to qualify for that tournament next season, and to achieve that we must improve our results in the league”.
Regarding the injured players, he explained: “Alisson Becker is working hard to return, but he will not be available this week, while the return of Alexander Isak is an important addition for us, as he is a natural goalscorer”.
He added: “We faced difficulties in converting opportunities into goals, and Isaac’s return, even if it was for a few minutes, gives us a big boost, and we hope that he will quickly regain his form after the rehabilitation period”.
He noted: “The current situation is the best in terms of player readiness compared to the rest of the season, but we still have some absences, especially in the defense line, in addition to doubts about the readiness of some players before tomorrow’s match”.
Slot concluded his remarks by saying: “Anfield has always been a crucial element thanks to its fans, who always make the difference, and that gives the team extra strength in big matches”.
