Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Ain returned to the top of the ADNOC Pro League after securing a well-deserved 2-0 victory over visiting Ajman. The match took place on Sunday evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, concluding the 21st round of fixtures.
Al Ain increased their points tally to 53, regaining the top spot in the standings, one point ahead of second-placed Shabab Al Ahli. Ajman remained on 24 points in seventh place.
Al Ain asserted their dominance early, opening the scoring after just six minutes. Soufiane Rahimi capitalized on a perfectly placed cross from his teammate Amadou Diagne, finding the back of the net and giving the home side an early advantage that disrupted Ajman’s plans.
Despite Ajman’s attempts to regroup and limit Al Ain’s attacking threat, Al Ain maintained their offensive pressure throughout the first half. Meanwhile, the visitors’ efforts posed little real danger thanks to Ajman’s solid defensive organization and the presence of goalkeeper Khalid Eisa.
At the start of the second half, Al Ain continued their dominance, extending their lead with a second goal in the 58th minute by Laba Kodjo, who capitalized on the confusion in Ajman’s defense, confirming his team’s superiority.
