New Delhi, India – After winning the Indian Open title. Englishman Alex Fitzpatrick won his first title on the DB World golf tour. To break into the top ten list of the “Top 10” by coming in sixth place in the world rankings issued on Monday for the “Race to Dubai” competitions in the struggle to be crowned champion of the season.
Alex Fitzpatrick succeeded in ending a long wait, winning the title in the 87th tournament in which he participated during his career on the DB World Tour. After an outstanding performance in the final round, he finished the competition with a total of 9 under par.
Alex, 27 years old, emerged from the shadow of his older brother Matt Fitzpatrick, 31 years old, the most prominent success in the world of golf. He won the US Open title in 2022, one of the four major tournaments, in addition to winning 10 titles in the DB World round. Including three titles in the season-ending tournament at Jumeirah Golf Properties, the last of which was last year 2025.

Alex’s coronation came just one week after his brother Matt won the Valspar Championship title on the PGA Tour. The two brothers made history as the first brothers to win both the PGA and DB World tours in two consecutive weeks.
Alex Fitzpatrick gained 585 points thanks to his victory in the Indian Open. It advanced 25 places and ranked sixth in the “Race to Dubai” ranking, with a total of 944 points.
Despite the Spaniard Eugenio Shakara losing the lead in the standings, and falling to second place in the last round with 7 strokes under par. However, he scored 389 points, advancing to 14th place in the “Race to Dubai” classification with 713 points.
The Indian Open is the second Asian Series tournament this season. It also represents the 14th stop of the current season. At least 42 championships are scheduled to be held in 25 countries around the world as part of the “Race to Dubai” competitions, which bear the name and logo of Dubai.
The final qualifiers will be held in the UAE, where the top 70 players will qualify for the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 5 to 8, 2026.
