Abu Dhabi, UAE – UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from King Felipe VI of Spain. During the call, the King condemned the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and several other countries in the region. He also affirmed his country’s solidarity with the measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty and security.
Spanish condemnation of Iranian attacks
During the call, the King of Spain affirmed his country’s condemnation of the attacks, which he described as blatant, against the UAE and several other brotherly nations in the region. He also emphasized Madrid’s support for the measures the UAE is taking to protect its security, territorial integrity, and stability.
He further noted Spain’s solidarity with the UAE in confronting current security challenges. This comes amidst the escalating military activity in the region and its repercussions on regional stability.
Praise for the protection of residents and citizens
King Felipe VI expressed his appreciation for the care shown by the UAE to Spanish nationals and all residents within its borders. He also commended the measures taken by the UAE to ensure their safety and security and to facilitate their affairs under the current circumstances.
Furthermore, he praised the UAE’s efficient management of the current crisis, emphasizing its success in maintaining its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
A call to halt the escalation and return to dialogue
For his part, the President of the UAE expressed his gratitude to the King of Spain for his country’s supportive stance and solidarity with the UAE in the face of attacks targeting its security and stability.
During the call, the two sides also discussed developments in the region in light of the continued military escalation and its serious repercussions on regional and international security and stability. Both sides emphasized the importance of an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue and diplomatic means to preserve the region’s security and stability.
