Abu Dhabi, UAE – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed the serious developments in the region and their repercussions on regional and international security and stability in light of the recent military escalation.
The call addressed the latest developments in the region. The two leaders also exchanged views on the implications of the current tensions and their impact on the security and stability of their countries. They emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and consultation among brotherly nations to confront regional challenges.
Mutual solidarity between the UAE and Kuwait
During the call, the UAE President expressed his concern for Kuwait in light of the Iranian attacks on its territory, affirming his country’s solidarity with Kuwait in all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and citizens.
For his part, the Emir of Kuwait expressed his concern for the UAE and affirmed his country’s solidarity with it in defending its sovereignty, security, and stability in the face of current challenges.
Condemnation of attacks on countries in the region
Both sides condemned the Iranian attacks targeting their territories and those of several other countries in the region. They stressed that these actions constitute a clear violation of state sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law and the UN Charter.
They noted that the continuation of such attacks would only exacerbate tensions in the region and threaten regional security and stability.
A call to halt the escalation and return to dialogue
The President of the UAE and the Emir of Kuwait stressed the need to take all necessary measures to safeguard the security and stability of both countries and their people under the current circumstances.
They also called for an immediate cessation of escalatory actions and a return to dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address the existing crises. This would help prevent further deterioration of the security situation in the region.
