Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Ministry of Defense announced that UAE air defenses successfully intercepted three ballistic missiles and detected 129 drones, 121 of which were shot down. Eight drones crashed within the country’s territory. This comes as part of efforts to counter attacks targeting the nation.
Total number of missiles and drones since the start of the attacks
The Ministry explained that since the beginning of the attacks, 189 ballistic missiles have been launched towards the country, 175 of which were destroyed. Thirteen missiles fell into the sea, and one landed within the country’s territory. Additionally, 941 drones were detected, 876 of which were intercepted. Sixty-five drones crashed within the country.
The Ministry added that eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed. It noted that the attacks caused minor to moderate material damage to a number of civilian properties. The attacks resulted in three deaths of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals. In addition, there were 78 minor injuries of various nationalities.
Voices of protest and limited damage
The ministry confirmed that the sounds heard in various areas were due to the interception of ballistic missiles by air defense systems. It also stated that drones and other aerial vehicles were intercepted by fighter jets, resulting in limited collateral damage.
Official condemnation and full readiness
The Ministry of Defense condemned the military strike, deeming it a blatant act of aggression and a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international law. It affirmed the state’s full right to respond and take all necessary measures to protect its territory and population. The Ministry also emphasized its readiness to address any threats and urged the public to obtain information from official sources and avoid rumors.
