Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police has warned of fraudsters exploiting developments and impersonating employees of the Dubai Crisis Management Authority, claiming to be linked to Dubai Police.
Dubai Police said on its X account: In light of the current situation, Dubai Police has spotted fraudsters exploiting developments and impersonating employees of the Dubai Crisis Management Department, claiming to be linked to Dubai Police. With the aim of seizing digital identity data (UAE Pass) and UAE ID card (EID).
Dubai Police confirmed that sharing this data may enable fraudsters to carry out SIM replacement operations (SIM Swap) and control bank accounts via banking applications.
Dubai Police also confirmed that it does not request any confidential data or verification codes via phone or messages.
She called on the public not to share their personal or banking information with any untrusted party, and to immediately report any fraud attempt through official channels.
This is done by calling 901 and the eCrime platform for cybercrime reports.
