Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, launched the National Charter for Education.
In a national move aimed at establishing a comprehensive reference that defines the strategic objectives of the education sector in the UAE and establishes a comprehensive framework for educational identity, graduate characteristics, societal values, and future competencies.
In a way that enhances the status of education as a priority and a major focus in building humanity and creating the future.

During the ceremony held at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi, the Charter was signed by Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates.
The launch of the National Education Charter coincides with UAE Education Day, which falls on February 28 of each year. In confirmation of the national symbolism of this day and an embodiment of the state’s renewed commitment to consolidating education as a sustainable approach to the development process.
The Charter embodies the UAE’s comprehensive vision for the future of education.
It also clearly defines the features of the Emirati learner, around whom revolves a well-established, global educational system with a sustainable impact that contributes to enhancing the country’s competitiveness and consolidating its knowledge leadership, in addition to establishing a national orientation that ensures the harmony of educational policies in the long term.
In addition to achieving a balance between the stability required for the education system and the flexibility needed to respond to future changes and the needs of society and the labor market.

On this occasion, His Highness the President of the UAE affirmed that education represents the cornerstone of the UAE’s progress and development process.
He stressed that investing in people is a guarantee for sustainable development and creating the future.
His Highness said that building a person who is proud of his national identity, adheres to his Arabic language and authentic values, and is qualified with future skills represents a national priority and a strategic goal that we are working to achieve through an integrated national educational system that places the learner at the heart of the development process, and establishes a new stage of education based on clarity of purpose, consistency of policies, and sustainability of impact.
His Highness stressed that education is the way to achieve the UAE’s vision, which requires strengthening the sector’s governance and developing its policies in a sustainable manner that keeps pace with national ambitions.
He pointed out that the charter represents a roadmap for advancing the education sector and achieving its national goals.

His Highness also stressed that education is an integrated national responsibility, shared by the school, family and society within one system.
He pointed out that the rapid changes taking place in the world require proactive action that leads transformations and transforms challenges into qualitative opportunities.
