Abu Dhabi, UAE – Khalifa Al Mazrouei stated that the UAE is exercising its right to respond to false allegations made by one of the parties to the conflict in Sudan. He also emphasized that these allegations are intended to divert attention from the Sudanese Armed Forces’ responsibility to protect civilians and uphold their dignity.
Documented crimes and attacks against civilians
Al Mazroui pointed out that these allegations come at a time when hospitals, markets, and educational institutions in Sudan are being systematically attacked using drones. Furthermore, there is credible evidence of the use of chemical weapons, as well as extrajudicial killings and arbitrary arrests. Sexual violence against women and girls is also prevalent.
Avoiding international responsibility and accountability
Al Mazrouei explained that the warring party leveling accusations against the UAE refuses to cooperate with international investigative mechanisms. It also avoids accountability for its ties to extremist groups, including those linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Furthermore, it continues to evade responsibility for numerous violations against the Sudanese people.
The UAE is committed to human rights and international support for peace.
Al Mazrouei affirmed that the UAE, while condemning all violations, remains committed to human rights and supports international efforts to resolve conflicts and achieve peace. He emphasized that the allegations leveled against the UAE are baseless, lack any evidence, and aim to tarnish its image. Furthermore, they serve to divert attention from the real human rights violations occurring in Sudan.
