UAE football fans are eagerly awaiting two crucial matches today in the AFC Champions League, as Shabab Al Ahli clashes with Al Ahli Saudi, while Sharjah meets Nasaf Qarshi of Uzbekistan, in a round that will determine the fate of the two teams: qualification or elimination from the competition.
Al Ahly youth have a chance to decide the outcome
Al Ahly’s youth team enters its match against Al Ahli Saudi with the slogan “There is no alternative to points,” as it needs to win or at least draw in order to secure passage to the next round.
Al Ahly youth team occupies the sixth position in the standings with 11 points, earned from 3 wins and 2 draws against 2 losses.
In contrast, the Saudi team enters the match with ease after officially securing their qualification, as they come in second place with 14 points, collected from 4 wins and 2 draws against one loss.
The match is scheduled to take place at Al-Inma Stadium at 8:00 PM Abu Dhabi time. It is part of the final round of the AFC Champions League group stage.
Sharjah awaits the service of its competitors
On the other hand, Sharjah is in a more complicated situation, as it must win to guarantee direct qualification, provided that one of its direct rivals, Al-Duhail or Al-Sadd, who occupy the seventh and eighth places respectively, stumbles.
In the event of a draw, they will be watching the result of Al Sadd’s match against Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, as well as Al Duhail’s match against Al Shorta of Iraq.
Sharjah currently sits in ninth place with eight points, having won two matches, drawn two, and lost three. Nasaf Qarshi, meanwhile, enters the match having already been officially eliminated from the tournament, finishing at the bottom of the standings.
