Dubai, UAE – American Patrick Reed topped the world rankings for the “Race to Dubai” in the DB World Golf Tour, according to the rankings issued on Monday.
This came after he won the Qatar Masters Championship title, which concluded on Sunday at Doha Golf Club.
Reid won his second title in just three weeks in the 2026 season.
After winning the Hero Dubai Desert Classic title last January at the Emirates Golf Club.
He finished the Qatar Masters with 16 under par, two strokes ahead of Scot Callum Hill, who scored 14 under par.
To score 585 points and raise his total score at the top “the race to Dubai” to 2259 points.
Reid’s coronation was an extension of a series of strong results, as he finished runner-up in the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship last week in Manama.
To confirm his ambition to become the first American to be crowned champion of the DB World Tour season since the name “Race to Dubai” was adopted in 2009.
This is the fifth title in Reid’s career on the DB World Tour since he became a professional in 2011.
It poses a real challenge to the winning streak of Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, the 2025 champion of the season for the fourth time in a row and the seventh in his career.
The Qatar Masters Championship is the fourth stop “international series”, which includes seven tournaments held in five countries across two continents.
It was launched from the UAE, and continues in Kenya and South Africa.
According to the season calendar, the “Race to Dubai” will witness the holding of at least 42 championships in 25 countries.
The UAE will host the final qualifiers, with the top 70 players qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 5 to 8, 2026.
Then the top 50 players to the DB World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Real Estate Golf Club during the period from 12 to 15 of the same month.
