Abu Dhabi, UAE – Global South Utilities «», a subsidiary of Resources Investment «», and the main partner of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, announced the conclusion of a strategic industrial cooperation partnership with the Chinese company «Weheng», the global manufacturer of battery energy storage systems.
With the aim of locally manufacturing advanced clean energy technologies in Abu Dhabi, and supporting the UAE’s efforts in industrial development.
In addition to the transformation of the energy sector and the strengthening of supply chains directed to the markets of the Global South.
This cooperation reflects a shared ambition to go beyond the model of being satisfied with the local market, and to consolidate Abu Dhabi as a base for manufacturing and exporting to emerging markets.
Under the partnership, «GlobalSouth Utilities» will assume the role of regional platform for market access, project integration, and implementation in subsequent phases.
By linking battery energy storage technologies developed by «Wiheng» to utility-scale projects, as well as commercial and industrial projects in Africa and Asia.
The collaboration combines Global South Utilities’ expertise in developing and deploying clean energy infrastructure in emerging markets with Weihing’s technical capabilities in designing, manufacturing and integrating battery energy storage systems.
Weihing «systems allow energy users from industrial and medium sectors to improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance the efficiency of electrical supplies.
In line with «GlobalSouth Utilities’» focus on providing practical and scalable clean energy solutions in the markets of the Global South.
