Dubai, UAE – Retired English football star, entrepreneur and content creator Rio Ferdinand reviewed his experience moving from a global icon in stadiums to an influential figure in the media and entrepreneurship.

This came during a session entitled “From Stadium to Goal” as part of the activities of the fourth edition of the Billion Followers Summit 2026, the largest global summit in the content industry economy.
It was organized by the UAE Government Media Office over a period of 3 days and concludes its work today under the slogan “Purposeful Content”.
The session was moderated by British content creator Simon Squibb, who last year won the Summit of a Billion Followers award, worth one million dollars.

Squibb pointed out that Dubai is today a favorite destination for entrepreneurs in various fields, and a major supporter of ambitions and dreams.

He said: “I was worried that only my sporting achievement would remain in people’s memories, and this would not have satisfied my ambition”.

He added that failure is a natural part of the path to success.
He pointed out that his move to the media after retirement was a well-thought-out step, which he began by establishing a private media company.
