Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored the winner of the Education Content Creators Award. This is the first global award of its kind launched by the Billion Followers Summit in collaboration with TikTok. The award celebrates content creators who have successfully developed digital learning methods. It delivers knowledge in innovative ways with a tangible societal impact.
The ceremony took place during the fourth edition of the summit, organized by the UAE Government Media Office.
the UAE is hosting the summit from January 9 to 11 at the Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Museum of the Future, under the theme “Meaningful Content.”
3.5Billion followers worldwide
And the summit also features the participation of more than 15,000 content creators. There are 500 speakers representing approximately 3.5 billion followers worldwide.
The award witnessed fierce competition. Nearly 600,000 educational content creators from the Middle East, North Africa, Africa, the UK, and the US applied. Approximately 108,000 of them met the award’s criteria.
More than 320,000 videos were produced on TikTok under the hashtag #EducatorAward, reflecting the diversity of educational ideas and approaches.
The $100,000 prize was awarded to science content creator Abdullah Anan, who has 6.7 million followers on TikTok.
His educational initiative “Science Street” has helped simplify science and encourage learning among the public.
A global platform for creative minds
The finalists included Dr. Amy Boyington, a historian and content creator with 1.2 million followers,
and Matt Green, who transforms science topics into short songs on TikTok and boasts 1.4 million followers.
His Highness emphasized that the summit continues its role as a global platform that brings together creative minds. He commended the participants for presenting inspiring examples.
These reflect the ability of content creators to utilize digital tools to serve education and enhance digital learning.
He also considered investing in innovative educational ideas to be an investment in people and building society.
