Dubai, UAE – The Billion Followers Summit, currently underway in Dubai, highlighted the growing role of the content industry. This sector boosts the digital economy and safeguards public awareness. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Gergawi, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, affirmed that the content industry has become an integral part of the UAE’s digital economy ecosystem.
He noted that Dubai continues to solidify its position as a global hub for empowering content creators, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the summit, he explained that the goal is to support startups. It enables entrepreneurs to establish their companies and test their ideas within a stimulating and integrated environment.
A platform for global markets
Al Gergawi added that Dubai represents an ideal platform for testing business models and launching into global markets. He noted that the digital economy is brimming with potential, which contributes to supporting economic growth.
It provides new opportunities for young people and content creators. He emphasized the importance of helping creators develop their businesses, expand their companies, and increase their audience base. This enhances their economic value.
He pointed out that success in the content creation market requires specialization. He explained that most prominent names in this field achieved their public presence and market value by focusing on specific areas.

For his part, Dr. Adel Sajwani, a family medicine consultant and content creator, emphasized that health content is among the most sensitive types of content.
This is due to its direct impact on public health. He stressed the necessity for this content to be based on scientific evidence and reliable medical studies. It should be presented by licensed specialists from accredited health authorities.
He also called for enhanced oversight of health content circulating on social media platforms. He warned of the dangers of unreliable information and emphasized the importance of the public verifying information sources.
