Abu Dhabi, UAE – The International Federation of Universities on Climate Change commended Khalifa University of Science and Technology’s research and innovations in clean energy and support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This came during Professor Ibrahim Al-Hajri, President of Khalifa University, receiving a high-level delegation from the Union on the main campus in Abu Dhabi, headed by Dr. Jian Zhang, Deputy Secretary-General.
Professor Ibrahim Al-Hajri said that Khalifa University’s achievements in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were appreciated by the International Federation of Leading Universities.
He stressed that universities play a vital role in stimulating climate action and promoting sustainability within campuses and communities.
He added that Khalifa University has implemented a sustainability policy that focuses on efficiency and integrity.
While ensuring its compatibility with its strategic priorities and the UAE’s goals to achieve climate neutrality.
For his part, Dr. Jian Zhang praised Khalifa University’s vision and dedication to promoting sustainability.
In addition to the great achievements it has made on the path to building a more sustainable climate future.
This is done by developing and applying sustainable technologies, supporting youth participation, and educating future leaders.
The delegation expressed great interest in the entire solar-powered water-from-air production system, which is capable of producing fresh water from air humidity around the clock.
