Abu Dhabi, Voice of the Emirates – Strategic affairs expert Amjad Taha commented on the US military operation that led to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, describing it as a necessary step to protect the “civilized world” from transnational terrorist and drug networks.
Maduro: The “godfather” of terrorist networks
In a post on the X platform, Taha asserted that removing Maduro is not merely about ending the rule of a “dictator.” It is about striking a major engine of global terrorism financing, as he accused Maduro of funding “Islamist terrorists” in northern Yemen, who are allied with the Iranian regime and Hamas in Gaza.
Taha also described the Venezuelan president as a “drug trafficker” who used his country’s resources to target the United States, Israel, and the United Kingdom. He indicated that Maduro’s networks extended as far as Port Sudan and the West Bank.
Calls to expand the scope of operations
Taha called on the United States to replicate the “Venezuelan model” in other regions facing similar threats, demanding action against the Houthi group, whom he described as “Iran’s proxies” in the north.
In Sudan and Hadhramaut, the aim is to purge those areas of Muslim Brotherhood elements who “operate freely.” The West Bank, where Mahmoud Abbas was described as a “corrupt leader,” should be the next target.
The logic of defending survival
Taha concluded his remarks by emphasizing that these operations fall under the category of “defending civilization and saving humanity,” stressing that any nation facing an existential threat has the right to do “whatever it takes to survive” and to overcome traditional obstacles to protect its security and global stability.
