Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Wasl inflicted a defeat on Al Wahda, after beating them 1-0 in the match that brought them together on Friday evening, as part of the UAE League competitions.
Al Wasl hosted Al Wahda at Zabeel Stadium, as part of the 11th round of the ADNOC Pro League.
Brian Palacios scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute.

Al Wasl managed to break Al Wahda’s winning streak in the league championship, which had extended since January 2025. Al Wasl also achieved its first victory over Al Wahda since February 2019, ending a streak of 10 matches without a win.
The match began calmly, with the first 15 minutes characterized by mutual caution between the two teams without any real danger to either goal.
The performance continued at the same pace until the end of the first half, which witnessed the first shot on goal by Sergio Pereira, which was easily saved by Mohammed Al Shamsi.
In the second half, Al Wahda almost opened the scoring in the 65th minute, after Dusan Tadic sent a cross that passed in front of Omar Kharbin, who was facing the goal, but he was unable to take advantage of it.
Al Wasl responded with a dangerous opportunity in the 80th minute from inside the penalty area, but Mohammed Al Shamsi intervened at the right time and caught the ball.
Al Wasl managed to score the only goal of the match in the 84th minute through Brian Palacios, taking advantage of Mohammed Al Shamsi’s mistake in coming out of his goal, as he dribbled past the goalkeeper and put the ball into the empty net.
Al Wahda tried to come back in the final minutes, most notably with a shot by Omar Kharbin in the 88th minute, which Al Wasl goalkeeper Khaled Al Junaibi brilliantly saved, maintaining his team’s lead until the final whistle.
