Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Emirates Airlines announced, on Wednesday, that it had purchased, during the Dubai Air Show 2025, eight additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines, at a value of $3.4 billion (about $12.47 billion), according to list prices.
This brings the number of A350-900 aircraft in the carrier’s fleet to 73 upon completion of deliveries.
The carrier has received 13 aircraft of this model so far.
Emirates Airlines said, in a statement, that it expects to begin delivering the additional new orders that were announced during 2031.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Senior President and CEO of Emirates Airlines and the Group, said: “The entry into service of the (A350) aircraft, since last November, contributed to creating a qualitative operational boost that enhanced our capabilities to meet demand, and enabled us to expand the range of modern products that we offer.” On board, including new premium economy class seats We look forward to continuing to work with (Airbus) to accelerate the pace of delivery of the remaining aircraft Including the aircraft we ordered today.”
He confirmed that in addition to the (Boeing 777-9) aircraft deal, (Emirates Airlines’) total orders for the latest wide-body aircraft rise to 375 aircraft.
He continued: “This expansion represents a strategic investment that consolidates our readiness for the future, enhances our ability to improve the travel experience for our customers, and supports the development of the aviation sector globally by creating new economic opportunities and strengthening value chains in the industry”. For his part, Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales at Airbus, Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, said: “We look forward to supporting (Emirates Airlines) in expanding its global operations using one of the most advanced and efficient models in the wide-body aircraft sector”.
