Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The Integrated Transport Center, affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, announced the launch of smart modular vehicles for the first time globally in Abu Dhabi.
This came during his participation in the Drift X 2025 exhibition, which was held as part of the Abu Dhabi Self-Moving Systems Week.
Modular vehicles are smart, reconfigurable vehicles.
They can be connected or separated according to operational need, and were developed by NExT as a new and independent category of road vehicles.
In a move that represents a qualitative shift in innovative transportation policies at the global level.
This recognition is based on a solid scientific foundation supported by published research and studies from international institutions in New York and Abu Dhabi.
In addition to international awards and field experiences that have proven the ability of this system to improve road efficiency, enhance sustainability, and develop the flexibility of urban transportation.
Modular vehicles are characterised by their ability to adapt to operational demand.
By linking or separating smart units according to the number of passengers or the nature of use.
This allows improving the flow of movement and reducing congestion and carbon emissions with high efficiency.
The Integrated Transport Centre is leading this transformation in partnership with Emirates Driving School, Liftango, and Paradigma Innovation Hub.
This is to carry out the first trial operation of these smart, multi-unit modular vehicles on Yas Island.
In a move that paves the way for a new phase of smart transportation in the capital.
In addition to their role in improving road traffic, these vehicles are used as a transitional platform for developing intelligent operating and remote control systems.
As part of the Integrated Transport Centre’s initiatives to gradually expand autonomous driving applications in Abu Dhabi in the future.
