453 aircraft “on call” strengthen the Emirates and Flydubai fleets

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – All eyes are once again on Dubai, as the Dubai Airshow 2025 approaches, from November 17 to 21.

Amid widespread expectations that the event will witness the conclusion of major deals to purchase new aircraft by regional and international airlines.

At a time when data issued by «Emirates Airlines» and «Flydubai» showed that the two companies had an order record of about 453 aircraft on order of several models, at the end of last September, for the two giant American manufacturers «Boeing» and the European «Airbus».

According to the data, the number of aircraft «on order» at «Emirates Airlines» reached 306 aircraft by the end of last September, including 56 aircraft «Airbus 900-A350», 170 aircraft «Boeing 9-777», and 35 aircraft «Boeing 8-777», in addition to 15 aircraft «Boeing 10-787» And 20 aircraft «Boeing 8-787», in addition to 10 aircraft «Boeing» designated for air cargo.

As for the company «Flydubai», it has 147 aircraft on order, including 117 «Boeing 737 MAX» aircraft, and 30 «Boeing 9-787 Dreamliner» aircraft.

During previous sessions of the Dubai Airshow, the two carriers recorded record orders for aircraft as part of their efforts to expand and keep pace with global growth and the great demand for travel to and from Dubai.

In November 2013, Emirates «Emirates» ordered 150 Boeing 777X aircraft worth $76 billion, according to the price list.

In the November 2023 session, Emirates Airlines «, which is the largest operator of Boeing 777 » aircraft in the world, signed confirmed orders to purchase an additional 55 «777-9» aircraft and 35 «777-8» aircraft powered by «GE-9X» engines, bringing the carrier’s total orders from «777X» aircraft to 205 aircraft.

In the same session (2023), «Emirates Airlines» expanded its previous order to purchase 30 aircraft «Boeing 787-9».

It also increased its commitment to a total of 35 aircraft «Dreamliner», including 15 aircraft «787-10» and 20 aircraft «787-8».

During the Dubai Airshow 2019, Emirates «Emirates» ordered 50 aircraft «A350-900 XWB» worth $16 billion (AED 58.7 billion), and the carrier returned in the 2023 edition of the show to buy 15 additional aircraft «A350-900», worth $6 billion, bringing the total orders for the carrier «A350» to 65 aircraft.

In turn, during the Dubai Airshow in November 2013, Flydubai «Flydubai» signed a second order for the company to purchase 75 aircraft «Boeing 737 Max», and 11 new generation aircraft «737-800» worth $11.4 billion, and a third order for the carrier to purchase 225 aircraft «Boeing 737 Max» worth $27 billion, representing the largest order for single-aisle aircraft in the Middle East During the Dubai Airshow November 2017.

At the Dubai Air Show (November 2023), the company signed the company’s fourth order to purchase 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft «Boeing», which is its first order of wide-body aircraft.

It is expected to receive it starting in 2026, at a cost of $11 billion, as part of the company’s efforts to diversify its fleet by operating wide-body aircraft.

The two carriers currently operate about 360 aircraft within their fleets.

«flydubai» revealed that it is studying a deal to order aircraft, expecting that the new order will be announced during the Dubai Air Show this November.

1,500 companies and 490 delegations at Dubai Air 2025

The Dubai Airshow is one of the world’s leading platforms for the aviation and space industry.

It brings together leading manufacturers, operators and suppliers to review the latest technologies and display modern models of commercial and defense aircraft.

The 19th edition of the Dubai Airshow will run from November 17 to 21.

This is in the largest edition of the global event, which includes more than 1,500 of the world’s most important space and defense companies from more than 47 countries.

While the exhibition includes a total representation of 150 countries.

This year, the exhibition includes more than 200 of the latest aircraft, hosting more than 490 military and civilian delegations from 98 countries, 440 new exhibitors, and 18 national pavilions, while the exhibition is expected to attract about 148,000 visitors.
