Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – The UAE modern sailing team won the gold medal in the Asian Optimist Championship.
Which was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman during the period from 25 to 31 last October.
The gold medal came from Carolina Bajak, who topped the continent’s overall standings in the silver group.
Her colleague Luca Herve came in fifth place, and Khalifa Al Rumaithi came in sixth place in the Golden Group and the overall standings of the tournament.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, congratulated the national team delegation on its distinguished participation and honorable results.
He praised the efforts of the administrative and technical staff and players in achieving this continental achievement.
