Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Dubai Municipality launched «Proactive Municipality Report: Making the Future Through Emerging Signals».
The report provides comprehensive visions for municipal action and innovative urban development frameworks to build cities ready for the future.
This will take place during the Asia-Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors Forum (APCS) 2025, at Expo Dubai from October 27-29.
The launch of this report reflects the established institutional capabilities and advanced strategic system established by Dubai Municipality in the field of foresight, as it is an integral part of its operations to create the future.
This is achieved through an ambitious forward-looking plan, a network of indicators for early monitoring, and superior analytical capabilities.
This report provides a practical framework to help municipalities anticipate future changes.
In addition to turning weak signals into opportunities, and expanding the scope of successful pilot projects into comprehensive initiatives that make a positive impact at the city level.
It also constitutes a roadmap for establishing a culture of foresight within municipal work, urban systems, and the services provided by the municipality.
This is in a move that reflects Dubai’s experience in moving beyond global best practices and creating future practices as a comprehensive model city for the future.
Eng. Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “This report reflects the vision of our wise leadership in preserving society and enhancing the quality of life today, making future standards a reality for people to live in, and providing practical tools for municipalities to anticipate changes, integrate advanced technology and sustainability techniques, and place human well-being at the heart of decision-making.”
