Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The “Treasure of the Generation” Award, launched by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language in 2021, has achieved great success, making it one of the most important literary awards that contribute to preserving the cultural heritage of the UAE, celebrating its rich diversity, supporting creators in its fields, honoring their efforts, motivating them to continue giving, and presenting more qualitative projects.

Over the course of its four years, the award, which aims to honor Nabataean poetic works, folkloric studies, and research that deals with the heritage related to Nabataean poetry and its authentic values, has been able to attract a remarkable number of participants who have found in it a way to achieve their aspirations and translate their creativity, especially within the category of “poetic harmony,” which is considered a space of pride for poets to imitate one of the poems of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul.

Writer and media personality Ali Obaid Al Hamli, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of “Kanz Al-Jeel”, said that the award plays a major role in spreading the culture of interest in Nabati poetry, and has delved into introducing the public to the sublime meanings and noble contents that distinguished the poetry of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul, especially since the new generation is in greater need of learning about these treasures contained in his poetry.

Poet Obaid bin Qadhlan Al Mazrouei, winner of the first round of the award in the poetry competition category, said that the award sought to revive one of the most important poetic arts, which is “conformism,” and contributed to publishing the poems of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul, and introduced his poetic creativity, making it one of the most prominent literary awards at the local and Arab levels in this field.

For his part, poet Ali Al-Sab’an, winner of the second round of the award in the same category, confirmed that the award carries an impressive idea in its content, timing, and objectives, as it celebrates the spirit of popular poetry and honors our cultural identity.

Poet Faisal Al-Otaibi, winner of the third session of the award in the same category, said that the award represented a great opportunity and a beautiful window overlooking creativity and excellence, and learning about the giant and rich poetic experience.

The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language recently closed nominations for the award in its fourth session for the year 2025, which reflects the remarkable success of the center’s efforts to uncover new creations that belong to its popular heritage and adhere to preserving it, to enhance the identity of generations.

This step reflects the center’s keenness to consolidate the poems of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul, in the conscience of society, and to introduce him to their immortal creativity, valuable messages, and authentic contents that encourage goodness, love, and tolerance, which today constitute the strategic vision of the UAE.
