UAE Showcases Zero Bureaucracy Model for Maritime Services at IMO Meeting in London

London, UK – The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, showcased its pioneering experience in Zero Bureaucracy in the maritime sector during the 134th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council held recently in London.

The Ministry presented a forward-thinking model focused on simplifying procedures and enhancing service efficiency, aligned with the country’s vision for a world-class government system. Achievements and initiatives under the Zero Bureaucracy Program were highlighted, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a key player in shaping the future of global maritime transport.

Engineer Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs, stated that the Zero Bureaucracy initiative represents an integrated government approach to reengineering services through a human-centered design, driven by accumulated knowledge and digital innovation.

Laila Al Blooshi, Director of Strategy and Future at the Ministry, emphasized the government’s steady progress toward a flexible, efficient model by eliminating unnecessary processes and accelerating service delivery using advanced digital solutions.

The UAE delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, and major UAE ports including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to ADNOC.
