The Egyptian Foreign Minister praised the constructive role played by the United Nations in supporting peace and sustainable development regionally and internationally. He also emphasized its efforts in supporting development in partnership with the Egyptian government. During the meeting, Minister Abdel-Aty reviewed the ongoing preparations for hosting the international conference to support Gaza. He expressed Egypt’s hope for the active participation of UN agencies and programs to benefit from their extensive experience, particularly in the early recovery phase leading up to reconstruction.

The minister stressed the importance of providing the necessary support for the conference to ensure clear commitments that will allow for the immediate commencement of recovery projects. The goal is to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Minister Abdel-Aty concluded the meeting by affirming Egypt’s commitment to supporting the United Nations’ efforts to promote sustainable development in the Middle East region. He also highlighted Egypt’s role as a key partner working to strengthen cooperation and the exchange of expertise among developing countries, particularly in light of current political, security, and economic challenges.
