DB World opens new shipping line between Jebel Ali and Berbera ports
The new line strengthens the global DB World network/agencies

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – DP World Group, DB World, announced the launch of a new strategic shipping line linking Jebel Ali Port in the UAE and Berbera Port in Somaliland.

The service begins with a trip every nine days.

To contribute to strengthening the global DB World network and consolidating the position of the port of Berbera as a pivotal sea gateway and a major logistics center in East Africa.

The group stated in a statement that the (Jabal Ali – Berbera) line will work to strengthen trade links between the Gulf region and East Africa.

To provide a faster sea route to Somaliland.

The line will include scheduled stops in Aden and Djibouti.

This provides additional connectivity with major port cities and supports broader market access in the Horn of Africa region.

From Berbera, shipments can be linked to inland destinations such as Ethiopia.

This provides an alternative to traditional supply chains based on Djibouti’s port and long-haul land transport. The new line will also help increase the stability of transit times and reduce exposure to regional trade route bottlenecks.
