Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – ADNOC Gas PLC has signed the main terms of a 10-year agreement with India’s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation to supply 0.5 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas annually.
This agreement confirms the growing presence of ADNOC Gas in global liquefied natural gas markets, especially in the continent of Asia, which is witnessing a continuous rise in demand for this vital resource, and contributes to strengthening the company’s position as a reliable global supplier of liquefied natural gas.
This long-term agreement also contributes to strengthening partnership relations with major Indian energy companies in their ongoing endeavor to support energy security in India, following the recent agreements signed by ADNOC Gas with both the Indian Oil Company and Gill Limited.
On this occasion, Fatima Al Nuaimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas, said that the long-term agreement with Hindustan Petroleum, which represents the third agreement of its kind that ADNOC Gas signed with Indian energy companies last year, is evidence of the solid partnership between the UAE and India in the field of energy It emphasizes contributing to reliably meeting the growing global demand for liquefied natural gas and supporting India’s ambition to increase the share of natural gas in its energy mix to 15% by 2030.
The liquefied natural gas will be supplied from ADNOC Gas’ Das gas liquefaction facility, which has a production capacity of 6 million tons annually.
It is noteworthy that the Das facility, which is the third oldest liquefied natural gas facility in the world, has exported more than 3,500 shipments of liquefied natural gas to all parts of the world since the start of its production operations.
ADNOC Gas is a key pillar in the ADNOC Group’s strategic implementation efforts to increase its natural gas production capacity and LNG exports to global markets. Natural gas is an important transition fuel, with lower carbon emissions than other fossil fuels and is a key raw material for industrial value chains.
