Damascus, Syria – Syrian Energy Minister, Mohammed al-Bashir, met with a high-level delegation from the UAE-based “Crescent” company, which specializes in energy and oil investments,
to discuss opportunities for cooperation and investment in the Syrian oil sector.
The meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus,
where proposed projects to boost production and develop the infrastructure of the oil sector were reviewed.
This is in addition to discussing mechanisms for expanding partnerships
to support the sector and improve its efficiency,
according to the Syrian news agency SANA.
Energy… and a conducive environment for success
According to an official statement, Syrian Energy Minister Mohammed al-Bashir affirmed the ministry’s commitment to attracting quality investments
and providing a suitable environment for the success of companies wishing to operate in Syria.
He stressed that these efforts are part of a strategic plan
to raise production capacity to pre-war levels.
Which amounted to 390,000 barrels per day in 2010,
This compares to 40,000 in 2023, with a slight improvement this year
to around 80,000 thanks to initial investments.
