London, Britain – Shell announced the signing of a long-term agreement with Ferrari to supply green energy until the end of 2034,
in a move that strengthens the Italian company’s efforts.
This is to reduce carbon emissions and shift its industrial operations to more sustainable energy sources
Under the agreement, Shell will supply Ferrari with approximately 650 gigawatt-hours
of renewable electricity over ten years, generated from one of its power plants.
This quantity covers approximately half of the needs of the Ferrari factory in the Maranello area
Which is the production heart of the company’s luxury cars.
Renewable energy
Shell Energy Italia will also provide renewable energy certificates to Ferrari
This ensures that all of Italy’s electricity consumption is covered by clean sources.
This is part of Ferrari’s commitment to reducing emissions from ranges 1 and 2 by up to 90% by 2030.
Ferrari confirmed that the agreement is part of its plans to
reduce the environmental impact of its production chain.
Especially given the company’s expansion into manufacturing hybrid
and electric cars in the coming years.
The company believes that securing stable sources of green energy is
a key element of its sustainable transformation strategy.
Providing clean energy
For his part, the CEO of Shell Energy Italy expressed his pride
in extending cooperation with Ferrari through this agreement.
He emphasized that the partnership between the two sides extends for many years,
whether in the field of manufacturing or in the world of Formula 1 racing.
Providing clean energy reflects a future trend that major industries around the world will adopt.
The agreement is expected to enhance Ferrari’s position
as one of the leading companies in transformation.
This is a move towards clean energy within the luxury car sector.
Especially with increasing global pressure on companies to reduce
their carbon footprint and comply with new environmental standards.
