Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will head to Saudi Arabia on Thursday, the Egyptian presidency announced.

The presidential statement said that the visit was in response to an invitation from Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom and Prime Minister.

He added that Sisi’s visit “comes within the framework of the established historical relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia”.

It is also an embodiment of the two leaderships’ keenness to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In addition to continuous coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of common interest.

The statement continued, “The discussions between the Egyptian President and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, scheduled to be held in NEOM, will address ways to support and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, in a way that achieves common interests at various political, economic and development levels”.

The two leaders will also discuss developments in the region, most notably developments in the war in the Gaza Strip.
