Washington, United States – Media sources revealed that the United States is using the weapon of intelligence exchange. They aim to push Ukraine to accept a deal with Russia that ends the war between the two countries.

The Wall Street Journal reported that among the various pressure mechanisms the United States could apply against Ukraine is intelligence sharing. This aims to encourage Kiev to agree to a potentially unfavorable deal.

She explained that the United States has shared intelligence information with Ukraine since the first months of its comprehensive war against Russia. This includes declassified satellite images. They were provided to American intelligence agencies and the Pentagon. These agencies obtained the images through contracts with American companies from the private sector.

After a controversial White House meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in February, CIA Director John Ratcliffe said at the time that President Trump had “requested a temporary halt” to intelligence sharing.

The newspaper indicated that the United States shares intelligence information with Kiev. However, the relationship between American and Ukrainian intelligence officials and officers, which was previously very close, has declined since then. This is according to people familiar with this path.
