Doha, Qatar – The Syrian national team snatched a dramatic draw against their Qatari counterparts, with each team scoring one goal, in the match that brought them together today, Thursday, in the Arab Cup 2025 tournament.

The Syrian national team met Qatar at Khalifa International Stadium, as part of the second round of Group A matches in the Arab Cup tournament.

The match started strongly from both teams due to each team’s desire to win, with a noticeable advantage for Al-Annabi.

Akram Afif, a player for the Qatari national team, took a corner kick in the tenth minute to Mohammed Manaei, who shot it, but it went past the left post of the Syrian goalkeeper.

Qatar’s Jassim Jaber also fired a powerful shot in the 19th minute, which the Syrian goalkeeper saved twice.

Omar Kharbin wasted a dangerous opportunity in the 21st minute after he chose to shoot, but the ball hit Al-Hashemi Al-Hussein and went out for a corner.

In the 28th minute, Qatar’s Hammam Al-Amin threatened the Syrian national team’s goal with a powerful shot that hit the crossbar before going out of play, and the first half ended in a goalless draw.

In the second half, the referee awarded a penalty kick to Qatar in the 59th minute. This came after Zakaria Hanan, the Syrian defender, pushed Hammam Al-Amin, the Qatari player, inside the penalty area, before the referee canceled the decision.

Qatar managed to score the opening goal in the 77th minute, through Ahmed Alaa, after a header that found the back of the net.

Meanwhile, the Syrian national team snatched a killer goal in the 90th minute, after a rocket shot from Omar Kharbin from the edge of the penalty area that nestled in the net.
