Ukraine – The Ukrainian government confirmed that Japan has expressed its willingness to provide new aid to Kyiv, including humanitarian and economic support, as well as non-lethal supplies to help strengthen Ukraine’s resilience in the face of the Russian military operation that has been ongoing for more than two years.
The sources explained that Tokyo also emphasized that its assistance would be limited to non-lethal equipment. This is in line with its peaceful defense policy, which prohibits the export or transfer of lethal weapons to conflict zones.
The Japanese move comes as part of ongoing international efforts to support Ukraine on the ground and in humanitarian terms without direct involvement in the ongoing military conflict in Eastern Europe.
