The Arab Reading Challenge attracts 163 million male and female students over 10 years

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The champions of the countries participating in the ninth session of the “Arab Reading Challenge” arrived in Dubai to attend the closing ceremony on October 23, at the Dubai World Trade Center.

This was under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him.

The closing ceremony includes crowning the challenge champion, the first place holder among people of determination, the distinguished school, the distinguished supervisor, and honoring the community champion.

The challenge team organized a warm reception for the participating delegation members upon their arrival at Dubai Airport and provided them with all facilities.

Provide them with the comfort and tools necessary to complete their preparations for the party.

The ninth session of the Arab Reading Challenge, which falls under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, achieved record participation, reaching 32 million male and female students from 50 countries, representing 132,112 schools and 161,004 male and female supervisors.

The list of top male and female students in the participating countries includes: Adam Al-Rudani (Morocco), Al-Ghala Al-Hajri (Qatar), Idris Al-Yami (Saudi Arabia), Baraa Saeed (Djibouti), Mohammed Al-Hassanain (Al-Azhar Al-Sharif), Heba Abu Bakr (Palestine), Taghreed Mohammed (Egypt), Ghalia Al-Anzi (Kuwait), Mohammed Ibrahim (Bahrain), Maryam Shamekh (Mauritania), and Lamar Al-Jaafra (Jordan) Abdul Razzaq Al Asmar (Lebanon), Reem Al Zarouni (UAE), Aisha Nazem (Iraq), twins Bisan and Bilsan Kouka (Tunisia), Noha Abdul Salam (Libya), Rahaf Abdullah (Yemen), and Nardine Issa (Syria).

The list of first places in the «Distinguished Supervisor» category includes: Saadia Azado (Morocco), Ali Safouri (Qatar), Maha Al-Thabeti (Saudi Arabia), Rana Salmi (Palestine), Sahar Misbah (Egypt), Fatima Mohsen (Kuwait), Sheikha Al-Rumaihi (Bahrain), Osama Al-Safi (Jordan), Anath Baydoun (Lebanon), Khadija Bazid (Mauritania), and Zahra Ibrahim (UAE) Alia Boushak (Tunisia), Bashir Al-Issawi (Libya), and Rashad Ahmed (Syria).

The total honorary and incentive prizes for the challenge amount to 11 million dirhams annually, bringing the value of the prizes since the launch of the challenge to 99 million dirhams over nine sessions.

Consolidating the love of knowledge

The Arab Reading Challenge, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the world’s largest reading competition and project, aims to enhance the importance of reading among participating students.

In addition to developing mechanisms for comprehension and self-expression in sound Arabic, endearing Arab youth to the language of Dhad, and encouraging them to use it in their daily dealings.
