Tel Aviv, Israel – In a new humanitarian move, Israel today received the bodies of two hostages held by Hamas, through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
According to Hebrew media, the operation was carefully coordinated between the two sides, with the participation of international organizations. This comes amid ongoing efforts to complete a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military confirmed that the two bodies had been transferred into the country for necessary examinations. Their identities will be confirmed, and the Israeli government thanked the Red Cross for its role in facilitating the operation.
The move comes amid faltering ceasefire negotiations and ongoing international efforts to release the remaining hostages held by Hamas.
