Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The organizing committee of the Abu Dhabi World Championship for Jiu-Jitsu Professionals announced the allocation of financial prizes amounting to 3 million UAE dirhams for the 17th edition of the tournament.

Its competitions will be held at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi from November 12 to 22.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The value of the awards reflects the tournament’s position as the largest event on the global jiu-jitsu agenda. It is also an additional incentive for male and female players from around the world.

This year, the tournament is expected to record record participation rates exceeding 10,000 male and female players.

Which consolidates Abu Dhabi’s leadership as a global capital of jiu-jitsu.

The tournament was launched for the first time in 2009 with the participation of about 500 players from 50 countries.

The 17th edition gives the Jiu-Jitsu audience a complete experience over 11 days.

Amateur competitions will begin on November 12. This will be followed by the Abu Dhabi International Jiu-Jitsu Festival for children, buds and cubs during the days from November 13–15.

Paragojitsu competitions will be held on November 13, followed by junior and youth fights on November 16 and 17.

And professors on the 18th and 19th of the same month.

Before concluding with the professional competition from November 20 to 22 at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi.

intensive preparations

The organizing committee continues its intensive preparations to host this edition and provide it with all the ingredients for success.

This is done through close cooperation with partners and supporting bodies. These include the Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Interior, and others.

To ensure the best possible experience from the moment players are received and to facilitate their procedures.

Passing through preparing the infrastructure, all the way to taking care of the smallest details and ensuring the readiness of the volunteer, medical and security teams.

This year’s edition is witnessing unprecedented participation.

This prompts the organizing committee to intensify efforts and work at a faster pace to accommodate this noticeable increase. They aim to present an unparalleled tournament that keeps pace with Abu Dhabi’s position as a global capital of sports and records positive repercussions locally and internationally.
