Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The UAE national karate team participates in the Asian Championship for juniors, youth, and under-21 categories of both genders.
Which is hosted by the Chinese city of Shaoguan during the period from September 5 to 7.
With the participation of a group of the continent’s most prominent male and female players in the kata and kumite competitions.
The UAE national team is represented in this tournament by eight male and female players in various weights and categories.
They are: Karim Rami Fawzi, Rashid Khaled Al-Saridi, Faisal Muhammad Al-Khalidi, Bakhit Ahmed Ibrahim, Sheikha Muhammad Al-Yafei, Malak Abdullah Ibrahim, Mahra Yaqoub Al-Balushi, and Nada Ahmed Abdullah.
The team is competing in the tournament with great ambitions. This comes after its positive results in the Arab Championship and the West Asian Championship recently.
This is in an effort to continue the path of success. They aim to enhance the presence of Emirati karate continentally and internationally.
Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Marzouqi, President of the UAE and Asian Federations, and Vice President of the International Karate Federation, affirmed his confidence in the abilities of the national team players. He expects them to provide distinguished performance. Notably, they aim to achieve honorable results.
He pointed out the strength of the competition. This is especially true in light of the participation of an elite group of Asian and world champions.
For her part, player Sheikha Mohammed Al Yafei, who participated in the kata and kumite competitions, expressed her pride in representing the national team in this event.
She stressed the efforts of male and female players to achieve honorable results. These results reflect the development of the game, support the Federation, and raise the nation’s flag in this continental forum.
The national team delegation is headed by Mohammed Harbouk Al Shehhi, member of the Board of Directors and Financial Director of the Federation. Along with him are Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, member of the Board of Directors. He is also Chairman of the Competitions Committee and member of the Competitions Organizing Committee of the Asian Federation.
The mission is accompanied by international referee Jaber Al Zaabi. Administrator Amal Shihab Ahmed, and coaches Waheed Hosseini and Nader Baiji are also part of it.
