Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Etihad Airways has announced that its first Airbus A321LR will enter commercial service on August 1.
The carrier said in a press release on Monday that the aircraft will undergo final preparations before entering service. It will initially operate between Abu Dhabi and Phuket, before expanding to serve destinations including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Copenhagen, Milan, Paris, and Zurich.
The A321LR arrived last Friday at Abu Dhabi International Airport, carrying flight number EY3210.
Etihad employees and representatives from key stakeholders welcomed the new aircraft, which the carrier says redefines single-aisle travel.
The arrival of the EY3210 supports Etihad Airways’ growth momentum, with 27 new destinations launched or announced this year.
Nine additional A321LR aircraft are scheduled to arrive in 2025, further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global aviation hub and supporting the airline’s 2030 vision of transporting 38 million passengers annually.
